Request a letter of good standing
Note: If you are looking for the compliance lookup, that functionality has been removed. Please have the taxpayer follow the steps below to request a Letter of Good Standing that they can share with you, or obtain a signed Tax Information Authorization form that authorizes the department to share taxpayer information with you directly.
A letter of good standing is a letter to show that you are in good standing on your taxes with the department. A letter of good standing is not a tax clearance. If you need a tax clearance, please click here for more information: https://www.tax.newmexico.gov/all-nm-taxes/2020/10/20/tax-clearance/ or view the tutorial on how to request a tax clearance online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDHwt1xIZx8. A letter of good standing does not preclude the department from taking any future actions on these periods.
Some common reasons you might need a Letter of Good Standing include opening a bank account, applying for a business loan, or renewing a license with a state agency.
