Some taxpayers who electronically filed and paid their 2023 state income taxes by April 30 incorrectly received a letter stating they had filed late and owed penalty and interest. Taxpayers who filed and paid by the deadline do not need to take any action on those letters.

Turbotax customers whose payments were submitted on May 2 should have received a communication from the company about their accounts. Turbotax is taking calls from those customers at 844-333-2161.

Taxpayers may want to check their accounts using the Department’s Taxpayer Access Point self-service website, which should accurately reflect their status.
