Based on new Legislation (House Bill 223), effective January 1, 2020, Taxation and Revenue will be the new administrator of the Insurance Premium tax program.

The department will start accepting paper returns for the following tax programs at the address below:

     Insurance Premium Casualty, Property, Vehicle - Quarterly and Annual returns

     Insurance Premium Life and Health - Quarterly and Annual returns

     Insurance Premium Surplus Lines tax - Quarterly returns

Certified or overnight mail location: Attn-Insurance Premium Tax, 1200 S. St. Francis Drive, Santa Fe, New Mexico 87504

The Taxation and Revenue Department will transition these tax programs into our GenTax system for all returns starting with calendar year 2020 forward. Returns and payments will be made in our Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) website: / starting March 30, 2020.
