The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department (TRD) has discovered a number of suspicious tax returns for the 2014 filing season. The suspicious filings originate from data compromised through Intuit Turbo Tax, a third-party commercial tax preparation software process. TRD detected these suspicious filings through the Department’s security systems.

In light of these concerns, TRD is taking additional security precautions to ensure the validity of 2014 state tax returns.

Intuit Turbo Tax has announced that their customers who suspect they may be victims of tax fraud may contact the following toll-free number for support and assistance: (800) 944-8596.
