The Taxation and Revenue Department, charged with the task of collecting tax dollars and distributing them according to state law, answers to the Governor as part of the executive branch of state government. It administers taxation, revenue and motor vehicle.\u00a0The Department\u2019s chief executive officer is the Secretary of Taxation and Revenue, a cabinet-level position.<\/p>\n

The Taxation and Revenue Department administers over 30\u00a0tax programs.\u00a0The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department is comprised of the following divisions:<\/p>\n

  • Administrative Services Division (ASD);<\/li>\n
  • Information Technology Division (ITD);<\/li>\n
  • Property Tax Division (PTD);<\/li>\n

  • Revenue Processing Division (RPD);<\/li>\n
  • Audit and Compliance Division (ACD), and<\/li>\n
