Property is valued as of January 1 of each year.<\/p>\n<p>By around April 1 of each year, County Assessors mail Notices of Valuation as required by<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nmonesource.com\/nmos\/nmsa\/en\/nav_date.do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Section 7-38-20 NMSA 1978<\/a><\/strong>. The notice informs homeowners of the full value and net taxable value of their property for that year. The net taxable value on the notice is the basis of a tax bill mailed from the county treasurer\u2019s office later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>Exemptions are available for qualifying homeowners.
