_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h2>The Property Tax Division helps local governments in the administration and collection of ad valorem taxes in the State of New Mexico.<\/h2>\n<p>Property taxes contribute a large portion of revenue to New Mexico\u2019s local governments and schools annually.<\/p>\n<p>Three bureaus make up PTD: Appraisal Bureau, Delinquent Property Tax Bureau and State Assessed Property Bureau.<br \/>Our main responsibilities are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>assure that county assessors implement and comply with applicable statutes, rules and regulations;<\/li>\n<li>establish evaluation criteria and procedures to monitor each county assessor&#8217;s performance;<\/li>\n<li>appraise and review estimates of real property values in transactions for counties, schools, municipalities and other state agencies;<\/li>\n<li>appraise and issue notices of valuation for state-assessed properties, and<\/li>\n<li>collect delinquent real property taxes, penalties, interest and costs by working with delinquent taxpayers through installment agreements and ultimately listing properties for public auction sales.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also promote equity and uniformity in assessments through education and training.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Property Tax Division helps local governments in the administration and collection of ad valorem taxes in the State of New Mexico.
