_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span>TRD is working to improve the tax process for Special Events in New Mexico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Tax payments will no longer be collected at Special Events.\u00a0 Instead, TRD representatives are available to assist with registration of businesses and answering questions on how and when to file for Special Events.\u00a0 Failure to register and file will impact your ability to participate in other or future Special Events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>As we work to improve our processes, we need everyone to have a valid New Mexico Business Tax Identification Number (GRT ID number).\u00a0 To obtain a GRT ID please complete an online application at <a href=\"https:\/\/tap.state.nm.us\/TAP\/_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Taxpayer Access Point<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Please select \u201cApply for a Business Tax ID\u201d and follow the prompts. \u00a0When selecting your filing frequency be sure to check the box \u201cSpecial Event\u201d to indicate you are participating in a Special Event.<\/p>\n<p>If you previously had a Tax Id Number, you will likely need to reapply as our account types have changed. For verification, you may contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tax.newmexico.gov\/contact-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>Call Center Bureau<\/u><\/strong><\/a> to verify if you need to reapply.
